Bleach Alternative Recipe
Tips, and Sustainable Reference Material (reading and Movie recommendations)
LARGE BUCKET: Nontoxic Bleach Alternative:
-
In a large bucket melt about 3⁄4 cup of super washing soda (sold at Sustainable Haus) in hot water to fully dissolve.
-
Add 2 tablespoons Sustainable Haus Laundry Detergent
-
Fill 3⁄4 of bucket with room temperature water (not hot or cold).
-
Add 1-2 cups hydrogen peroxide.
-
Add fabric, or the dirty objects that need a good cleaning for up to 48 hours.
-
I will use the mixture for more than one set of fabrics. It becomes less effective with
multiple uses, but I like to stretch it to get the most out of it and I always have things that need extra cleaning! When the water gets discolored, or after about 3 days, I stop using it.
